They Traveled to Space book

They Traveled to Space book

img_6820img_5777This week, we are finding out about some of the people (and animals!) who traveled to space.  Our theme ties into the Unique theme for this month.  The book talks about the first monkey and dog who traveled into space as well as the first person.  The book is in chronological order so you are able to see the progression of the “firsts” in space!  The front cover features one of our highschoolers as an astronaut while the back features one of our post secondary students star gazing.  Very neat!

IMG_9605Since the Unique theme is all about transportation, we decided to “take a trip” to London!  The front of the book features a student in front of one mode of transportation, a plane.  Looking through the book, you can see real pictures from Joy and her sister-in-law from previous trips they have taken to London.

Our students got to “travel” to see Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the Tower of London, to name a few.  The The End page even has one of our students dressed like a guard in front of Buckingham Palace!

IMG_5191Since spring break was last week, we wanted to talk about traveling.  And since our own Joy traveled to New York over the break, we decided that was the place to talk about this week.

There are so many different sights to see in New York and we only touched on a few of them.  The pictures, with the exception of the Brooklyn Bridge, were found using google images and they are amazing!  Our students were really captivated by them.  We hope you enjoy the sights that we found!
